Mission Report – May 1-31, 2025
We enthusiastically greet you in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ!
It is our privilege to share our report of our activities in the month of May, and to recognize with gratitude the opportunities that God so faithfully gives us. We are grateful for your participation and your willingness to enjoy with us our narrative of how God is strengthening His church through the pastors and leaders in our mission field. We appreciate your support in prayer, financial offerings, and encouragement that helps us move forward together.

SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES IN MAY 2025:
May 3 : We held the trimestral ‘Encounter’ for the Group 1 students in the Diploma of Ministry Program (8:00 -11:45 a.m.). Our time together included the following:
Each student presented their assignments;
We summarized the material that was covered during the course;
The group participated in a question-and-answer session;
We distributed the course material for the next trimester.
May 5: We began a new series which is taught on Zoom. The course is Fundamentals for Spiritual Leadership, which consists of a series of 36 lessons. We are offering two time-slots of the class, one on Mondays 6-7pm and the other on Wednesdays 7-8 pm in order to accommodate schedules of the participants.
May 10, 11: We held in-person meetings with two of the groups of the Diploma in Ministry Program: Group 6a on May 10 in the city of Estelí (May 5, 8:00 – 11:45 a.m.), and Group 6b on May 11 in the city of Managua (2:00 – 5:00 p.m.). The students submitted their assignments from their previous classes; we held a summary of the course content; students shared from their learning experiences, and we distributed the didactic materials for the next module.
May 12 – 21: We travelled to El Salvador (by bus) for the purpose of obtaining my Salvadorian Passport. The General Director of Immigration and Foreign Residents recommended that I reside in Nicaragua as a citizen of El Salvador (where I was born and resided before my immigration to Canada). Because of the relationship between the countries of Nicaragua and El Salvador, I would not have to continue to return to North America every 3 months, as is required of people residing in Nicaragua under a Canadian Passport. The goal of obtaining my Passport from El Salvador was successfully accomplished! We will now initiate the process for my residency in Nicaragua as a citizen of El Salvador.
May 17: We had planned for Carlos Betanco to show the Christian movie “The Forge’ in Esteli during our absence. This to be the final session of the workshop series Strategies for Success in Christian Discipleship. Sadly, it was cancelled due to low pre-registration. We will offer the film on another date.
May 20: We shared a training workshop, The Life of the First Christians, at ‘Strong-Tower’ Church in Jiquilisco El Salvador. We had previously shared History Makers 1 and 2 in this church.
May 24: We had planned to hold the workshop The Uncomplicated Missional Church from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., but it was cancelled due to a lack of pre-registrations.
May 26: My wife Martha traveled to Nevada (USA) to celebrate her mother’s 90th birthday. She will return to Nicaragua on June 24.
May 29: I visited Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Estelí, strengthening our fraternal bond and encouraging the pastor and congregation to keep moving forward.
May 31: I preached on A Spiritual Legacy in the Mothers’ Day program (celebrated on a different date than in North America). The afternoon event (5:00 pm) was organized by the men of Bethany Church (Pastor Darwin Iglesias).

A WORD OF THANKS:
We give glory to God for your constant presence and support in each step of this missionary labour.
